Covid-19 is real; you likely know someone who has or has had it.

I wear a mask; I hope you do too.

This letter is primarily to Wilton residents. You will not put your health at risk to attend a Wilton Village Board meeting as Bill Lueders implies. While not providing “alternative to in-person attendance,” the board meets socially distanced in the gym of the Wilton Community Center. Most, but obviously not all, wear masks. They have changed their meeting location specifically to deal with Covid-19.

It would be better if all the board members wore masks because it would set an appropriate example, not because it is required for health reasons. There is considerable room, they are socially distanced, and their overall concern regarding Covid-19 is very clear from their building and grounds actions.

As it pertains to Wilton, Bill Lueders is simply wrong. Attend the board meetings, wear your mask; if you get Covid-19, it won’t be from the board meeting. The Wilton Village Board members are far from being “reckless and irresponsible officials.”

P.S., The County Line has a reporter at the board meetings. She is not endangering her health.
