Letter to the editor: Why are trees, brush being removed from along creeks?

By PAULETTE KARPER | Ontario

I would like to voice my concerns as to what’s going on with the pulling out of trees and brush along our creeks. This has been a natural habitat for birds and wildlife and shade for the fish. To see the barren look of what’s being done is discouraging. What has been put in its place are large stones. Trees and their roots helped hold back erosion.

Wider now, as you can see, are the creeks with their crumbling banks. Aren’t conservation practices being taught anymore?
