I was passing through Norwalk on Saturday, Aug. 1, and observed a heart-warming beautification project happening. A friend and his crew were repairing an old storefront.

It is so right to repair a structurally sound, well-built old building, such as this former store, rather than to destroy it.

I would like to encourage owners, town fathers, mayors and citizens to save old, classic structures whenever possible. When they are gone, they are forever gone!

Thank you to the County Line and its readers for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts.
