Letter to the editor: NRA’s influence on our leaders is unacceptable

By GERRY MILLER | rural Ontario

Your “Backtalk” article of Feb. 22, 2018, was excellent and right on the money. Couldn’t agree more. What a disappointment our elected politicians have been. The information you provided in your article was very interesting and way more than I knew. I, like many others, get all my information from TV news and hope that my choice of David Muir is somewhat credible. It seems our last hope is to make better choices at the polls. I really appreciate your articles and reading from someone who has a great deal of common sense; it makes it all the more worthwhile.

This influence from the NRA, in my opinion, is unacceptable. I would hope that our leaders would have the backbone to make decisions on their own, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I give the students in Florida a great deal of credit for voicing their views and hope they continue.

Again, thanks for your great comments and articles.
