Plans are underway for the Kendall Public Library’s summer reading program (SRP), which will run the same weeks as the Royall School District’s summer school.
Our SRP programs will be in the Kendall Community Hall and begin at about 12:45 p.m. (the programs begin after the bus from Royall arrives at the hall). Sessions are scheduled to last one hour, and children should be picked up at the community hall.
On Thursday, June 9, David Stokes will present “Water Wildlife: Oceans of Possibilities,” which will include live animals and things to touch, puppets, artifacts, riddles and humor.
On Thursday, June 16, we will be entertained by musician John Duggleby, the “Chicken Dancer.” Snacks will be provided following the programs.
Our final SRP session will be a movie at the Elroy Theater. Children will be bused from Royall Schools to the theater and then back to Kendall following the movie. All SRP participants will receive a free pop and popcorn.
Parents and other guests are welcome to attend any of these programs. Children in 4-year-old kindergarten through sixth grade can sign up for SRP through Royall Schools or by stopping in our library during library hours. There is no charge to participate.

There has been a change in plans regarding our book-club fieldtrip to area libraries. The fieldtrip is being postponed at this time and will be rescheduled.
