Kendall Public Library to host dinner, movie viewing

By LYNETTE VLASAK | Kendall Public Library director

The Kendall Public Library book club is planning a special meeting for December. We will show the movie “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” at St. John’s Church in Kendall at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. This movie is based on one of the books we discussed in 2018. We will also have a potluck meal at 5 p.m., before the movie. Everyone is invited to this event; you do not need to be a book club member. Please consider joining us for both the meal and the movie or just the movie. There is no charge, and everyone is welcome.

It is not too late to purchase a Love Light. For $5 each, you can remember or honor someone with a Love Light. Sales will conclude Tuesday, Dec. 4. Stop in the library or call 463-7103 during library hours to purchase a light. Love Light names will be on display in the library window, printed in the County Line newspaper, and listed on a flyer that can be picked up in the library. All proceeds from the Love Lights will go toward the library’s expansion project.

A cookie and candy walk will be offered at St. John’s Church on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 12–4 p.m. An assortment of cookies and candy will be available; payment is by donation, with the money going to the library’s expansion project. If you would like to donate cookies or candy, please drop them off at the library by 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, or you can take them directly to the church on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 7. Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraiser and for all of your support throughout the year.
