This is June Dairy Month. Please support the dairy farmers! Their hard work and dedication are very much appreciated! Where would our country be without the farmer?
Until this COVID-19 is over and we can get back to what “used to be” normal living, we will not host any of our activities.
We do have some birthdays this month: Joyce Thonesen has a birthday on June 21; Diane Ellefson, on June 12; Vicky Ludeking, on June 28; Harry Thonesen, on June 29; and John Stake, on June 30. We hope they all have a happy birthday.
On Wednesday, June 10, Alice Ackerman, Aging and Disability Resource Center Elderly Benefit Specialist, is scheduled to come to the meal site to issue farmers-market coupons to seniors starting at 11 a.m. For more information, please call her at (608) 269-8693 or the meal site at (608) 463-7622. (PLEASE NOTE: The date had been previously published as June 11.)
There is a free service available for seniors in need of medical equipment, such as hospital beds, commodes, shower chairs, and walkers. These items are available at no charge; they just ask that they be returned when no longer needed. For more information, call Helen Milne at (608) 462-5675.
The ADRC newsletter contains many interesting articles and other important information relating to senior citizens. You may call the meal site if you would like one.
Remember to call the meal site two days ahead if you would like to reserve a meal. Our meal site is currently closed for in-house dining, but we do offer home-delivered meals, so if you would like a meal delivered to your home, just give me a call.
We would like to wish all fathers and grandfathers a happy Father’s Day.
