A Kendall man sustained life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Norwalk on March 22, according to Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins.

At about 2 p.m., the sole occupant of the vehicle, Raymond L. Shawley, 37, was driving a blue 2003 Chevy Trailblazer on Highway 71, near Lasso Avenue, when he veered right while eastbound, and then abruptly swerved left, driving off the roadway to the north. The vehicle came to rest after it went through a field and over a creek.

Shawley had not been wearing a seatbelt.

The Monroe County 911 Communicataion Center, the Wilton Area Ambulance Service, the Norwalk Fire Department, the Sparta Area Ambulance Service and Gundersen AIR assisted the sheriff’s office, which is investigating the crash.
