In short meeting, Ontario approves several agenda items

By KAREN PARKER | Former County Line Publisher

The Ontario Village Board zipped through a short agenda on Monday evening in just 24 minutes. The following were among the items:

• August Hagen visited the board, expressing interest in buying one of the commercial lots in the new Taylor Subdivision. Taylor said it would be for a lumber-related business, but he was vague about the exact type of business.

• The board chose “western rust” as the roof color for the new pavilion on State Street, with “medium bronze” as a second choice.

• Doorknobs on all water/sewer buildings will be keyed the same.

• Police Chief Dave Rynes reported on complaints that some sheriff election signs did not comply with the zoning ordinance. He noted the matter had been resolved.

• The Ontario American Legion will place American flags on all of the light poles on Main and Garden streets.
