Also, Christian Barrientos was fifth in the fourth-runners’ race, and Cole Brandau was fourth in the fifth-runners’ race. Colten Green and Jake Laxton ran as the sixth and seventh runners, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively.

Shelly Powell was 13th in the second-runners’ race, Hailey Schueller was 12th in the fourth-runners’ race, and Kelsey Peterson was 13th in the fifth-runners’ race.

Nelson leads charge at sectional site

The Brookwood cross country teams took a tour of their Division 3 sectional site last week when they traveled to Durand.

The course runs around the perimeter of the Rolling Greens Golf Course in Durand and offers slight undulation in terrain for participants. The type of course was good for Brookwood’s Allyson Nelson, who finished 18th overall with a team-best time of 24:05.8.

Atteln was 53rd overall with a time of 26:15, and Shelly Powell was 55th overall with a time of 26:26.2. Also, Ingrid Ruiz was 66th and Chelsey Letcher 72nd to finish out the scoring runners.

Elmwood/Plum City’s Kassye Todd won the girls race with a time of 20:51.2, and Aquinas took the team title with 85 points. Brookwood was 12th with 264 points.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran’s Dan Lau won the boys race (17:15), and La Crosse Central, which had four runners in the top 10, scored 33 points for the team win. Brookwood was 13th with 299 points.

Chase Ferries was 49th overall, leading the team with a time of 20:42.3. Orrie Maurhoff, Adrian Degenhardt, and Cole Brandau crossed the finish line together, occupying spots 57–59, respectively, and Colton Green rounded out the scoring runners, taking 76th place.
