“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

Life without any hope or optimism is tough. We are reminded here that God has given us His Word the Bible to give us hope. Do you have any hope for today and the future? We can have a real, living hope! We all face the reality of death and eternity.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 — “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.”

The Bible uses the word “sleep” for those who die having a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Do you have that saving faith in Jesus Christ? We can. Note 1 Thessalonians 4:14 as it explains that saving faith is offered to us sinful people: “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

God’s salvation offered to us sinful and dying people is found in choosing to trust His Word and believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not done so, do so now, believing that He died and rose again for you. In Him is hope for now and eternity.

Our times have plenty to discourage and challenge us, but troubles are a part of life. How wonderful to have God’s Word, the Bible, which points us to His blessed hope for now and all eternity which is faith in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is soon to return for His own in thisworld. Are you ready?

Titus 2:13 — “Looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”

Oh, thank God for His hope found in the person of His Son. Do you have that hope for now and all eternity? It makes all the difference in our lives every day and for our eternal future.
