Yesterday the Vernon County Health Department reported its fourth Covid-19 case, a man in his 50s who is recovering at home.

The third case, a man in his 70s, remains hospitalized. The first case has recovered.

So far, 644 tests have been conducted, yielding 611 negative results and four positive results. Twenty-nine tests results are pending.

Community spread of Covid-19 has occurred in the local region and throughout the state, according to the health department. 

The health department states, “The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay at home as much as possible, especially if you are experiencing signs of illness, wear a fabric mask when in public, practice social distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from other people, wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.”
