The Elroy Lions Club will sponsor its annual free Christmas movie for all area children during the holiday season. This year’s movie will take place Saturday, Dec. 17. The movie will again be held at the Elroy Movie Theater and will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Lions hope ALL area youth, and their parents, if they wish, will come join in the fun as we watch “Norm of the North.” Norm of the North is a polar bear with very special talents. When he hears that human homes are going to be built in his Arctic backyard, Norm comes to the rescue with the help of a team of ragtag lemmings at his side.

“Norm of the North” is a bear-y funny big-city adventure that will be fun-filled for people all ages.

As children arrive at the Elroy Theater on Dec. 17, Lions Club members will greet moviegoers and give each of them a $1-off coupon, which can be used toward treats at the snack bar on the day of the free movie only. Also, because the movie gets done close to lunchtime, movie goers will given a coupon that can be used at Bender’s Family Restaurant on Saturday only.

So enjoy the free movie, and then go enjoy lunch at Bender’s Family Restaurant. Though there will be no admission for anyone attending the movie, the Lions are hoping moviegoers consider helping out those less fortunate by bringing in nonperishable food items or crisp $1 bills to donate to the local food pantry if at all possible.

The Lions also want everyone to know they placed their annual call to the North Pole to see if Santa could make a quick stop at the theater. They were informed by North Pole Central that Santa will be in the Elroy area. So we hope he will be able to stop by the theater for a short visit.

So be sure to mark your calendars for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Set your GPS for the Elroy Theater in downtown Elroy, and let your children watch “Norm of the North” on the big screen, compliments of the Elroy Lions Club.
