Brookwood theatre receives state honors; parade set for Friday in Wilton

Brookwood’s theatre program received all-state honors in the Wisconsin High School One-Act Theatre Festival.

The cast of “Women and War: A One Act Play” had advanced through district and sectional tournaments to compete in this year’s virtual state event.

Emma Felland (2021) was recognized with an Outstanding Acting Award, which acknowledges exceptional performance. This is the first time Brookwood has presented at the state level.

Other cast members are Garrett Anderson (2021), Kimberlee Downing (2022), Suzi McLendon (2021), and Franklin Wildes (2022). (April Arndt photos)

The Wilton Fire Department will put on a congratulatory parade recognizing the state-qualifying performers at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. The parade route will go from the Wilton Fire Station, down Main Street past Strazdins’ Jewelry Studio and continue past Hardware Hank. 

A release from the school district stated, “”Please come out to line the streets to congratulate these students on their awesome accomplishment of making it to state!”
