The Brookwood track and field teams competed at the Blackhawk Invite in Viroqua on Monday afternoon. The girls finished seventh overall; and the boys, eighth, among 12 participating teams.
Lainey Teynor held off her 17 competitors to win the girls’ 400 at Viroqua with a time of 1:03.27.
Brooke Lehnherr was second in the 200-meter dash. Hillsboro’s Hannah Munson won with a time of 27.6, while Lehnherr finished with a time of 27.64. The sophomore was third in the 100.
Shelly Powell was fourth in the 1,600. McKenzie Woods was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.
The 1,600-meter relay team (Shelly Powell, Brooke Lehnherr, McKenzie Woods and Lainey Teynor) was third.
The Brookwood girls’ team was seventh overall with 43 points.
Dan Peterson was the highest finisher for the boys after taking second in the 400 (53.31). Peterson was also third in the 200.
Adrian Degenhardt was fourth; and Cristian Barrientos, fifth in the 3,200. Degenhardt and Barrientos were joined by Charley Guzman and Jorge Madrigal in the 3,200-meter relay, which finished fifth.
The Brookwood boys finished eighth with 37 points.
Brookwood will compete at the Boscobel’s Sparky Reynolds meet Friday before traveling to Bangor on Tuesday for the Scenic Bluffs Conference meet.
