Brookwood High School independent art students recently drew portraits of students from Peru as a part of their contribution to the Memory Project, a nonprofit organization that matches artists from around the world with children from places that have experienced natural disasters, war, or extreme poverty and hardships. The portraits will be sent to the children as keepsakes, and the experience of them receiving the portraits will be filmed. The independent art students will then be able to watch the children receive their drawings. The students who participated are Kaila Britton, William Chadwick, Mackenzie Gnewikow, Jackie Santiago and Brenda Tinoco-Mendoza. (Contributed photo)
