    This Memorial Day, the historic St. Luke’s Church just east of our valley will have its annual service and potluck lunch after the Kendall Legion does its memorial to the veterans buried there.

    On Wednesday morning, I boarded the Pine Hill Entertainment bus for a trip to eastern Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains. Our destination was Prestonsburg, Ky., where we spread out to Paintsville and Pikeville to see the local sights.
