Two hurt in town of Hillsboro crash

By County Line staff

Two men were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Pine Hill Road, north of Gross Valley Road, in the town of Hillsboro on Oct. 28, according to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears.

Randy R. Blaha, 20, of Hillsboro was traveling south on Pine Hill Road when a vehicle driven by Brogan K. Gillingham, 17, of Hillsboro struck him at about 7:40 p.m.

Gillingham had been driving north on Pine Hill Road and struck Blaha’s vehicle head on, causing the Blaha vehicle to spin east. Gillingham’s vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Hillsboro Ambulance transported Blaha and Gillingham to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither Blaha nor Gillingham had been wearing a seatbelt.

The Hillsboro Fire Department and the Hillsboro Police Department also assisted the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
