Ontario Public Library collecting craft supplies for refugee kids and families

By APRIL ARNDT | Ontario Public Library director

We’re collecting craft supplies for the refugee kids and families at Fort McCoy until Friday, Dec. 17. A list of high-demand items can be picked up at the library or found on the library’s website at https://ontariolibrary.wrlsweb.org/. Drop off items at the library during open hours.

Stop by the library to bid on baskets in our holiday silent auction. We have three baskets available to bid on. The baskets were donated by the Ontario Knit Wits, and proceeds will benefit the Ontario Public Library. Winners will be announced on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Get your Christmas shopping done early! We’ll host a holiday sale at the library Friday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. Let us do your holiday baking! We’ll have cookies and other baked goods, gently used Christmas decorations, Ontario Public Library cookbooks, and handmade crafts for sale. This event is sponsored by the Ontario Knit Wits, and proceeds benefit the Ontario Public Library.

We’ll show “Home Alone” (PG) on Friday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the library basement, with free admission, popcorn, and pop! All ages are welcome.
