Happy fall, everyone!
The 2025–2026 school year is off to a fantastic start, thanks to our outstanding students and staff. To say they’ve been “awesome” would be an understatement. I have the privilege of visiting classrooms regularly, and the quality of learning and level of student engagement I see are truly impressive.
Another highlight at Brookwood is our positive school culture, which was on full display during last week’s homecoming festivities and Friday night’s football game. Prior to the week, I met with our junior high and high school students to talk about expectations and the importance of being respectful, responsible, and positive representatives of their school, community, and families. Our students did exactly that — and they did it exceptionally well.
The week’s activities were fun and successful, but the football game atmosphere was something special. With our brand-new grandstands filled to capacity, and the band, cheer squad, students, and community cheered side by side, supporting our players and celebrating together. The energy was contagious — it was one of those “wow!” moments that reminded us all of the strength of our school spirit.
Construction Updates
We’re officially on the home stretch! The referendum construction projects are scheduled to be completed by mid-to-late December 2025, and things are shaping up beautifully. We are already using the new science and technology education spaces, which have been a huge hit, and the positive feedback about our new track and football field continues to pour in. The new bus loop configured into the parking lot keeps students extremely safe as well, and that space continues to receive positive feedback as well.
A special thank you goes to our students, who rolled up their sleeves and helped move technology education equipment into place. What a great hands-on learning experience for them! Our construction team has also been quick to recognize what we already know — that Brookwood is a special place. One contractor recently told me, “Your students and staff are amazing. At other schools, kids aren’t nearly as friendly. Here, they’re always offering to help. You don’t see that very often.” Hearing comments like that makes me incredibly proud of our school community.
