The Bank of Ontario is growing. A new bank in Westby, pictured above, was recently added, joining the Bank of Ontario and Genoa State Bank.
The building on Main Street has a banking history, with previous occupants being BMS Harris and Fortress Bank. Prior to that, it was Westby State Bank, and according to bank president Doreen Dahl, the decision was made to take the old name of the bank.
Located at 100 Main Street in Westby, the business provides full banking services and is open daily.
Richard Del Medico bought the Bank of Ontario in 1983 from Bill and Ann Teynor, later adding the Genoa bank. He is now retired, and his daughter, Doreen, stepped in to run the enterprise.
But he won’t be forgotten in Westby. Doreen commissioned a portrait of her dad, pictured below, which now hangs in the Westby lobby.
