The UW-Extension will host a fruit-tree-pruning workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Rod Sherwood residence, 25786 Hockey Ave., Tomah.
The Sherwoods have a number of fruit trees, primarily apples, that range in age from newly planted to 10 years old. Jerry Clark, UW-Extension agriculture agent from Chippewa County, and Bill Halfman, UW-Extension agriculture agent from Monroe County, will lead the discussion and demonstration on pruning the different types of trees at the Sherwoods’ residence. The workshop will be held outdoors, so dress appropriate for the weather.
Contact the Monroe County UW-Extension Office at 269-8722 for more information and to pre-register. Pre-register by Thursday, March 9, so that adequate handouts can be prepared.
