Starting Jan. 12, the Wilton Public Library will sponsor a four-session writers’ group from 9–11 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month. The four-session, hands-on workgroup will feature writing with prompts and giving feedback. This group is intended for those interested in productivity and perhaps even publication. If interested, please contact the library.

If you are experiencing memory loss or provide care for someone with dementia, our Memory Connection groups might interest you. Please join us at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, as we offer opportunities for people to come together to share experiences, find support and learn about resources. A dementia specialist will be available.

Our library book discussion group is reading “The Crops Look Good: News from a Midwestern Family Farm” by Sara DeLuca. This nonfiction book is a compilation of letters written by members of a farming family from Polk County, Wis., from 1923–1955. I mention it here because I think the book has broad appeal for our community. It is a nice meditation on family-farm culture. If you’d like to give it a try, we have a few extra copies on our hold shelf. It might be a great excuse to join our book discussion group, which will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, to discuss this title.
