We are looking forward to having a successful blood drive in Wilton on Saturday, Oct. 1. Hours are from 7–11:30 a.m.
Did you know we’ve been holding blood drives since 2001? Fifteen years have flown by fast.
The folks in Wilton and the surrounding communities have donated 2,442 units of blood during that time. What does that mean? Well, since one unit of blood has the potential to save a life, our units have had the potential to save 7,326 people in need. WOW! It’s actually a bit more in each category, as some of the early drive materials have been misplaced.
Donors, give yourself a pat on the back. We are so fortunate to have a faithful group of donors and are always looking for more. We need more folks; uncontrollable factors eliminate folks who have been regular donors. Iron levels seem to be the greatest culprit, but illness, relocation, and other factors come into play.
