Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for Sept. 4–10

Monday, Sept. 4: A vehicle driven by Laura J. Satterlee of Wonewoc struck a tree in the roadway on County Highway Q in the town of Greenwood. She was not injured, and the vehicle had minor damage.

Friday, Sept. 8:  Near the intersection of Highway 33 and County Highway HH, Steven J. Reed of Mauston was driving a truck and trailer owned by United Cooperative when Jacob D. Wolf of Hillsboro passed him on the right. Wolf hadn’t noticed that the United Cooperative truck was turning right and struck the trailer tire, causing damage to his own vehicle. There was no reportable damage to the truck and trailer. Also, no injuries were reported.

Last week, Susan Humfeld of Chaseburg hit a deer on Schlicht Road in the town of Hamburg.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is accepting donations for the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association’s Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs program for families of law enforcement in the Houston, Texas, area. Donations will go directly to families of law enforcement impacted by the floods to aid them with their personal losses. Donations can be dropped off at the sheriff’s office or mailed to Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, 1320 Bad Axe Court, Viroqua, WI 54665.
