Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for Oct. 30 to Nov. 5

Saturday, Nov. 4: Kevin Campton of La Farge was traveling eastbound on Canyon Avenue in the town of Union when he swerved to miss a deer, left the roadway, ran into the ditch, and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.

Saturday, Nov. 4: At about 12:30 p.m., Eben N. Swanson, 34, of La Farge was operating a vehicle eastbound on Smart Hollow Road, east of County Highway S, in the town of Webster. According to Swanson, he had left the right side of the roadway when meeting a westbound vehicle, and then his vehicle had traveled down an embankment, overturned, and struck a tree. Swanson had been wearing a seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A male passenger, 13, also of La Farge, was wearing a seatbelt and did not report any injuries. Both refused medical treatment at the scene.

The La Farge Fire Department and the La Farge Ambulance Service assisted the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the crash.
