Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for April 1–7

Tuesday, April 2: Carol Silvers of Gays Mills was traveling westbound on Highway 56 in the town of Viroqua when she activated her left turn signal and started to slow down to turn into a private driveway. Marianne Miller of Viola was traveling behind the Silvers vehicle. To avoid rear-ending Silvers’ vehicle, Miller swerved to the left and sideswiped Silvers’ vehicle. The impact caused Silvers’ vehicle to spin around. Then Miller’s vehicle backed up and scraped the side of Silvers’ vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles had functional damage.

Tuesday, April 2: As David Hendricks of Stoddard backed out of a private lot on Proksch Coulee Road in the town of Bergen, he turned to the east and did not notice the vehicle parked behind him. The rear bumper of Hendricks’ vehicle struck the rear panel of an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle owned by Danita Doerre of Stoddard. Hendricks and his passenger, Ann Hendricks, did not report any injuries. Both vehicles had functional damage.
