Hospice Touch of Tomah Memorial Hospital is seeking volunteers to support terminally ill patients and family members.
A six-week training series will be held from 5–8 p.m. Mondays from Sept. 14 to Oct. 15 at the Tomah Hospice office, 601 Straw St., for volunteers.
Jolene Frantz, the hospice/palliative care volunteer coordinator for Tomah, said, “Trained hospice and palliative care volunteers can choose to be involved in a variety of ways, like direct services with patients and their families, office clerical work, or assisting with special events and fundraising.”
It takes more than 60 volunteers to coordinate the Hospice Touch and Palliative Care programs, which cover Adams, Juneau and Monroe counties, Frantz said.
For those seeking more information on becoming a volunteer, a meet-and-greet will be offered from 5–6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Hospice Touch office. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
For more information, contact Frantz at (608) 374-0250.
