St. Joseph’s to host breast-cancer awareness event

Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital and Clinics will host an event called “Paint My Night Pink” to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of mammograms.

The informational paint-night fundraising event will be from 6–8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Hillsboro Brewing Company.

Participants will paint their own wine glasses under the direction of Julie Johnson, art instructor from Hillsboro schools, while learning more about women’s health issues and wellness options. Presentations and demonstrations will include breast health and breast cancer, nutritional advice, exercise and meditation in motion yoga demonstrations, the benefits of essential oils, massage therapy, eye wear fashion and cosmetic services.

Cost is $30 per person, with proceeds going to the H.O.P.E. Organization, which sponsors a local cancer fundraiser walk. The fee includes painting supplies, a wine glass creation, a pink commemorative infinity scarf, and light appetizers.

Ticket are limited to 60 participants for this event and may be purchased at Hillsboro Brewing Company, Gundersen Eye Clinic, Farmers State Bank, Peterson’s Pharmacy and Royal Bank in Hillsboro or any registration area at Gundersen St. Joseph’s in Elroy, Hillsboro or Wonewoc beginning Oct. 9.

For more information about Paint My Night Pink, call Sue Zimmerman at (608) 489-8259.
