A program on Germany will highlight the annual fall festival at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Ridgeville on Sunday, Oct. 9.
Speakers will share a variety of experiences of German travel, with photos and stories from Kayla Gille and Brant Meyer. Pastor Mathew and Melissa Minzlaff will focus on Wittenberg and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and the life and times of Martin Luther in preparation for the formal observation in 2017.
A silent auction will be held as a fundraiser, the money used for a scholarship to support a student in seminary. A Packer jersey and Packer memorabilia, a child-size handcrafted quilt, handcrafted one-of-a-kind jewelry, Loretta Gerke’s cookbooks and an assortment of coffees are just a few of the many items available.
The regular service will be at 10 a.m. Dinner with turkey and ham on the menu will be served in the fellowship hall from 11:30 a.m. until all are served.
The Ladies Circle, with support of Thrivent Action, will sponsor the fall festival. The public is invited.
