Sherry S. Vlasak, 58, of rural Elroy passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at the UW Hospital in Madison. 

She was born Dec. 18, 1956, to Alfred Jr. and Eva (Christie) Petska in Tomah, where she grew to adulthood and graduated from the Tomah High School.

Sherry was united in marriage to Steven Vlasak on May 8, 1982, in Sparta. They farmed in the town of Glendale, Monroe County, for many years. She truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, along with raising her vegetable garden. She also enjoyed cooking and making sure everyone was well fed. Another interest was looking for antiques.

Survivors include her husband, Steven; her children, Adam (Stephanie) Vlasak of Norwalk and Nicole Vlasak (Mike Bradley) of New Lisbon; her sisters, Beverly Balliett of Sparta, Darlene (Tom) Petska of Tomah and Donna (John) Berry of Tomah; a brother, Alan Balliett of Tomah; her nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law, Esther Vlasak; and family, Donna Downing, Barbara Tomlinson, Roger Vlasak, Rebecca Sheridan and Shelly Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the United Methodist Church, 204 Royall Drive in Elroy, with Rev. Peace Kim officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Cemetery, rural Elroy. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
