Local author Larry Scheckel will visit us at the Wilton Public Library at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17. Scheckel has just released his new book “Seneca Seasons: A Farm Boy Remembers.” In the book, he recalls growing up in the hill country of southwestern Wisconsin, where he and his eight siblings lived on a farm and attended a one-room school. He will present a discussion of his rural life experience and sign copies of his book. This event will be free of charge, and copies of his book will be available for purchase.

We received a gift in memory of Aaron Pasch this week. Memorials to the library are a lovely way to recognize the value of reading in folks’ lives. Aaron enjoyed reading old-time books and the farm papers. His family’s gift is much appreciated.

Our new session of the Wilton Writer’s Workshop is wrapping up, and you have one more opportunity to join us: Nov. 18 will be writer’s choice of subject. We will meet to share our stories from 2-4 p.m. If at all possible, please submit your story by email (wiltonlibrary@wrlsweb.org) ahead of time so that I can have a printed copy on hand. Attendance each week is not mandatory, but I do think that there is much to be gained by sharing your work and hearing the work of others.
