A Monroe County resident has died of the Covid-19 virus, resulting in a total of 23 since the start of the pandemic.

The health department stated, “Please, let’s honor their memories by doing what we can to stop the spread of Covid-19. Stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering if you must leave home, practice physical distancing, and avoid gathering with people you do not live with. Do it for your friends, your family, your coworkers, and your community.”

Also, Monroe County had 32 new Covid-19 cases over the weekend and 18 today. Cumulatively, the county has had 3,107 cases, of which 236 are active (eight are hospitalized), 2,848 have recovered, and 23 have died.

Vernon County reported three new deaths: a woman in her 80s who was hospitalized, along with a male in his 80s and a male in his 70s, both of whom were recovering at home.

Twenty-eight county residents have died of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The health department stated, “Our team would like to express our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and those impacted by this loss of lives.”

Also, the county had 31 new cases, all of whom are recovering at home, Saturday through Monday:

• A male between 0–9 years old

• Two males between 10–19 years old

• Four males in their 20s

• A male in his 30s

• Two males in their 40s

• Three males in their 50s

• A male in his 60s

• A male in his 70s

• A male in his 80s

• A female between 0–9 years old

• A female between 10–19 years old

• Three females in their 20s

• Three females in their 30s

• A female in her 40s

• A female in her 50s

• Three females in their 70s

• A female in her 80s

• A female 90 or older

Of the total 1,357 cases since the start of the pandemic, 1,163 have recovered, seven are hospitalized, 159 are isolating at home, and 28 have died.

From Saturday through Monday, Juneau County reported 49 new cases, resulting in a total of 1,658, of which 345 are active (five are hospitalized), 263 have been released from isolation, 1,042 have recovered, and eight have died.

Also, three new inmate cases were reported at the New Lisbon Correctional Institute. At present, the facility has nine active cases and no hospitalizations.

Since the Aug. 15 start of an outbreak, 535 inmate cases have been reported at the prison.
