Royall shuts down Bangor 4–0

Monday, May 8

The Panthers jumped on Interstate 90 for a game against the Bangor Cardinals and came home with a 4–0 shutout victory.

Matt Preuss was on the hill, pitching six of the seven innings, allowing six hits, and striking out four and walking two. Noah Friedl fired the final frame with two strikeouts.

Offensively, the Panthers three players with multiple hits: Friedl had a double and a single, Jaydyn Enzenbacher had a pair of singles, and Austin Ziems had a pair of singles.

Thursday, May 11

The Rockets of New Lisbon visited Panther Park and struggled defensively, which allowed Royall to score 10 runs in a 10–0 Panther win. Royall scattered the scoring, punching across runs in each inning.

To earn the win, Enzenbacher went the distance, allowing only one hit in the six-inning game while striking out eight and allowing one walk.

Friedl had a double and two singles, Nick Murray had three singles, Seth Brown had a pair of singles, and Arien Nordstrom had a pair of singles.

Saturday, May 13

The Mauston Golden Eagles hammered the Panthers soundly, nailing down a 13–3 victory in the Mauston Invitational involving Mauston, Royall, and Sparta.

Friedl started for the Panthers, struggled with control, and left the game behind by four runs. Ziems and Keith Schnurr finished the game on the mound.

The Panthers pushed across three runs in the sixth, as Brown drove two with a long triple. Logan Rego ripped a double and eventually scored the third Panther run.

In the Panthers’ second game of the day, the Royall bats came alive, scoring 10 runs in a 10–3 win over Sparta. 

Brown threw the full seven innings, allowing three runs on eight scattered hits while walking only three.

Friedl had an excellent game at the plate, as he contributed two hits, two walks, and three runs batted in. Also, he hit the first home run of the season for the Panthers with a three-run shot beyond left field. Brown and Schnurr each added a pair of singles.

In the final game of the day, the Mauston Golden Eagles defeated Sparta by 4–1.
