Ramona L. (Williams) Olson passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the age of 92.

Mona was born in Chicago on June 26, 1924, to Alonzo and Anna (Glumske) Williams Sr. During her childhood, she lived in both Chicago and Norwalk. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1942, she held various jobs but would say her greatest roles were as wife to Oral (Ole) Olson; mom to Dave, Pam and Terri; Grams to Emily, Jessica, Paul, Amanda, Alex, and John; step-grandmother to Tony and Tom; and great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren.

She loved to watch old movies, travel, play cards, visit with friends, bake desserts, and laugh. She was a gracious host, and many enjoyed her cookies and bars, especially if you were lucky enough to have her make you “your favorite.” She would always welcome her family and friends with a hug hello and say goodbye with a hug and wave from her front window. She lived in her home in Norwalk for 55 years. In later years, she moved from her home in Norwalk to live near her son, Dave, in Muskego, Wis.

She will be laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery in Norwalk, with a private family service, as she requested. She had hoped that people would remember her with laughter in their heart instead of a tear in their eye. Her family will do both.

Mona’s family invites you to celebrate her life at the Cranberry Lodge meeting room in Tomah from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the American Cancer Society.
