Pamela Jean Fuchsteiner

Pamela Jean Fuchsteiner, 55, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., passed away June 20, 2017, at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Pam was born July 28, 1961, in Viroqua to Ed and Ruth Pitkin. Pam graduated from Brookwood High School in rural Ontario in 1979. She later attended Viterbo College and graduated with high honors in 2003.

Pam married it the love of her life, James Fuchsteiner, on Oct. 8, 1994. Pam loved country music, reading, traveling and being on the river with family and friends. She was well known for her talent in cooking and baking. Every holiday, Pam spent hours upon hours baking for those she loved.

Pamela is survived by her husband, James Fuchsteiner; her mother, Ruth nee Nelson Pitkin Olson; her father-in-law, Thomas Fuchsteiner; her brother, Jerry (Terry) Pitkin; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Pitkin, Julie (Tim) Wichelt, and Kristine (John) Sanchez; her nieces, Jacqueline, Bobbi Jo, Krystal, Delia, Megan, Molly and Emily; and her nephews, Matthew, Marvin, Ronnie, and Thomas.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ed Pitkin; her brother, Bob Pitkin; her stepfather, Lyle Olson; and her mother-in-law, Patricia Fuchsteiner.

A special thank you to Pam’s work family at Half Moon Education for their continuous love and support through Pam’s illness.

Also, thank you to the Mayo Clinic Health System Oncology Department for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center (Maplewood Room) in La Crosse. A private burial will be held at a later date. Pam will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
