You are invited to “A Night Out of Asia: Dinner and Tales from Japan, Korea, and China” at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in the Ontario Public Library basement.
This is a fundraiser for the library that will feature a delicious and entertaining evening, including an Asian-inspired dinner interspersed with tales of travels by Mark and Monica Jagel, Jan Kenyon, and Wayne and Kathy Barrett. The cost is $20 per person, and you can RSVP by Friday, April 28, at 337-4651. Please indicate regular orvegetarianmeal choice.

Sock ‘Em, a knitting group, will meet Wednesday, April 12, at 8:30 a.m. Make a custom sock to fit your foot by choosing a different pattern for each part of the sock.

Spring treats will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Let us do your Easter and spring baking. There will be cookies and other treats for sale. Proceeds will benefit the library.

Lauren West will offer a program, “Plan Your Winter Pantry,” at 5 p.m. Monday, May 8. This free program will start with a potluck supper, and then Lauren will discuss how to eat healthier year round by planning your garden now. We will consider the best herbs to grow with preservation for winter in mind. This is a companion class. In the fall, we will learn the basics of fermenting, canning, freezing and drying.

The book group will discuss “Everything I Never Told You” by Celeste Ng at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12. The novel is “a profoundly moving story of family, history, and the meaning of home,” according to the publisher’s blurb.
