The Ontario Public Library’s shared-stories group will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, to share holiday stories. Did Grandpa always come dressed as Santa on Christmas Eve? Did you send off firecrackers on New Year’s? Did you go swimming on the Fourth of July? Bring your favorite holiday story and share it over cookies and cider.

Jan Kenyon will have a workshop on making needle-felted birds from 1–3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. They are just adorable and would make great tree ornaments. The workshop is free; come and bring a friend.

As you start your holiday shopping, consider an Adopt-a-Magazine gift for a family member who has everything. When you donate a subscription through the library, we will give you a gift card that you can give to him or her. When each issue arrives at the library, we will place a label recognizing that individual as the donor. He or she also can remain anonymous if desired.

If interested, contact the library, and we show you the list of available magazines, or you can suggest a title to add to the library. We do ask that you go through the library with the subscription so that we can keep better track of the subscription.

The library will be open Friday and Saturday morning after Thanksgiving. Come grab a book or DVD as you recover from that feast.
