Preschool playgroups will be offered through Wednesday, May 25, at the Ontario Public Library. Children from 3–5 years old are invited to join us at 10 a.m. for stories, activities and crafts. Playgroups will resume in the fall.

Continue reading to preschoolers this summer with our “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” program. Stop by the library for a packet, and start reading to a preschooler. Keep track of the titles read on the reading log, and return it to the library for a sticker and book. Finish the program, and you will receive a book bag.

“On Your Mark, Get Set, Read” is the theme for our summer reading program for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Programs will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Monday, June 6, and ending Wednesday, June 29. All programs are from 1–2:30 p.m., and children are invited to any or all the programs.

The book group will discuss “Snow White Must Die” by Nele Neuhaus on Wednesday, June 6, at 10 a.m. We are meeting in the morning in June because of the summer reading program in the afternoon.

Sock ‘Em, a knitting group, will meet Wednesday, June 1, at 8:30 a.m. to continue knitting our sock pattern. Contact the library for a copy of the pattern and list of supplies.

The library will be closed Saturday, May 28, and Monday, May 30, for Memorial Day weekend. Have a safe, enjoyable weekend.
