Norwalk Public Library has several new books

The Norwalk Public Library has the following new items:

Picture books

• “Digger Man” by Andrea Zimmerman and David Clemesha

• “Roll Over! A Counting Song,” illustrated by Merle Peek

• “Ted’s Shed: Easy Words to Read” by Phil Roxbee Cox, illustrated by Stephen Cartwright, and edited by Jenny Tyler

• “Who Says Moo?” by Ruth Young, illustrated by Lisa Campbell Ernst

Fiction

• “Gerald’s Game” by Stephen King

The mystery-book group’s next meeting will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, when we’ll discuss Dorothy Gilman’s “A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax,” the fourth book in the “Mrs. Pollifax” mystery series.  From NoveList, provided by BadgerLink: “An innocent-looking grandmother who has a knowledge of karate agrees to help the CIA recover plutonium that has been stolen.”

The mystery book group will meet again Friday, Oct. 5, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to discuss Gilman’s “Mrs. Pollifax on Safari,” the fifth book in the “Mrs. Pollifax” mystery series.  From NoveList, provided by BadgerLink: “At the request of her old CIA contact, Carstairs, Emily Pollifax leaves New Jersey and her geraniums for Africa, where she battles dark forces of evil to save an African leader from assassination.”
