The Norwalk Public Library has a National Geographic Channels film, “Pope vs. Hitler,” which was written and directed by Christopher Cassel.
According to National Geographic, “The Vatican’s silence in the face of Nazi atrocities remains one of the great controversies of our time. History has accused wartime pontiff Pope Pius XII of complicity in the Holocaust and dubbed him ‘Hitler’s Pope.’ But a key part of the story remained untold: the Vatican’s covert effort to assassinate the Führer.”

Check out the “Hot Reads for Cold Nights” program. Find a book at Norwalk Public Library, check it out, read it, write a brief book report about it, and choose a prize, and then you can repeat the cycle three more times. The program will end Saturday, Dec. 30, or when the prizes run out — whichever happens first. Anyone of any age can participate, and the book reports are in a three-ring binder at the desk.
