At the Norwalk Public Library, a Christmas coloring contest will run from Dec. 12–17 for children in kindergarten though eighth grade. Lily Tomek and Jesus Santiago will judge the entries at about 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

The Disney movie “Frozen” will be shown from 4–5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, and there will be some treats and small presents in a giveaway exchange game for children who are present at 5:30 p.m.

Seven first-graders from the Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton School District’s Community Learning Centers afterschool program will visit the Norwalk Public Library from 4–5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19. They’ll make a Santa Claus craft and listen to O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi” and Robert Frost’s poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.”

The “Hot Reads for Cold Nights” program starts Monday, Jan. 2, at the Norwalk Public Library. Read a book, write a review, and win a prize. More details will follow.

The N-O-W Elementary School Traveling Preschool Playgroup will be at the Norwalk Public Library from 10–11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4. Treats, stories, and games geared for preschoolers will be offered, with a chance for caregivers to talk to educators.

The mystery-book group will discuss Lee Child’s “Make Me,” the 20th book in the “Jack Reacher” series, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6.
