Norwalk’s Main Street offerings just shrank a bit more with the closure of Lars’ Auto Service.
Mike Larson has been in business in that location since 2008, when he left a similar business in Burlington, Wis., after he had lost his lease.
The building in Norwalk had been owned and operated by the late John Anderson and Glen Brunner, but had set empty for a few years.
Larson bought it and promptly brought in the equipment for auto repair and body work. Later, he added a tow-truck business.
But after a recent stint of driving a semi, he has turned his full attention to that business. He now owns two trucks and plans to buy a third. He has sold the building, his trailer home, a second home down the block and basically all of his possessions.
But while he will no longer be in business in Norwalk, you are likely to see him around. When he isn’t on the road, he plans to park his camper in the area during the summer months and will spend the frigid months in Yuma, Ariz.
