The Kendall Lions held their meeting on Nov. 15 at Hidden Inn in Kendall. The club welcomed new members Eric and Jessie Fry. The club will be sending a donation to Royall Schools to help support the publication of the high school yearbook.
The club will get the same number of Christmas wreaths to sell as last year, and they should be arriving the week of Thanksgiving. The cost per wreath had gone up, and it was decided that we would raise our prices accordingly. The 24-inch wreaths will sell for $13, while the 36-inch ones will go for $22. (Note: all wreaths have already been sold.)
The club will be working with the Kendall American Legion again this year to fill and distribute bags of fruit, peanuts and candy to area senior citizens. Bags will be filled and delivered during the second full week of December. Club president Eric Zingler presented an opportunity to the club to get apples for the picking of them from Rex Moseley’s Orchard by Warrens (see picture). Some of the apples will be given to area food pantries, while some will be stored for use in the fruit bags.
Our Lions Christmas party will be held on our regular meeting date, Dec. 20. This year’s party will be held at the Grain House Eatery (Kickback) in Kendall. Social time begins at 6 p.m., with the meal at 6:30 p.m.
