The Kendall Village Board indicated at its meeting Aug. 14 that it would be amenable to a hike in Wilton Ambulance Service rates.
At present, the per-capita fee is $5, but it will increase to $6 in 2018, $8 in 2019 and $10 in 2020.
The Wilton Ambulance Service’s area includes the villages of Norwalk and Kendall and at least part or all of the following townships: Wilton, Clifton, Wellington, Sheldon, Glendale and Ridgeville.
“We have really good service,” said board member Deb Larson.
Kendall joined the Wilton Ambulance Service in 2012, after disbanding its own service due to a lack of volunteers.
Board member Art Keenan agreed with Larson: “We all appreciate the service, and this is the cost of doing business.”
