The leaves are turning and falling off the trees. I hope we will have some beautiful fall foliage. As we look around us and see all the beauty we have here, we can’t help but think of the destruction to the west of us from forest fires and to the south of us from hurricanes. Don’t forget to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
A representative from the Juneau County energy-assistance program will be at the Elroy meal site from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3. You will need to furnish them with you Social Security number, the birthdate for each person in the household, and proof of all gross income for July, August and September. You will also need to bring electric and heating cost for Sept. 1, 2016, to Aug. 31, 2017, and your food-share letter. Call Bonnie at 847-5988 if you have any questions.
The Mauston Aging and Disability Resource Center publishes its “Ageless” newsletter once a month. You can pick one up at any meal site and at various locations in all the towns. Call any meal site, and they can tell you where you can get one.
Out-of-town bus trips are offered every Friday. Check with the Mauston ADRC office at 847-9371 to see where they are going and to reserve a seat.
To everyone with a birthday in October, have a happy birthday.
The sharing supper at the Elroy Methodist Church will be the last Wednesday of the month. Check this out — they always have a good meal.
