Do you have someone on your list who has ties to Wilton but may be hard to shop for? Get a leg up on your Christmas shopping. We have Wilton Community Cookbooks for sale for $10 each. More than half of your cost is a donation to our library. This book includes several recipes from an olde pie shoppe around the corner!

Stores are full of gingerbread house kits right now. Whether you use a kit or graham crackers or bake from scratch, consider making a gingerbread house this Christmas. The library would love to display your gingerbread creation at our holiday open house Wednesday, Dec. 21. Santa will be here, and we will have treats and a craft for the whole family.

Do you have a child who loves dogs? We have two therapy dogs in our area that would love to be read to by your child. These dogs are safe, certified and insured for working with children or adults. Call the library for arrangements at 435-6710.

Preschoolers continue to sign up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. It is what it sounds like: a commitment to read 1,000 books to your preschooler before he or she turns 5 years old. Though 1,000 books sounds like an ambitious goal, by reading just three books a day, you can read more than 1,000 books in just one year. There is no rush; the only deadline is when a child enters kindergarten. So pick out some books and start enjoying some productive lap time with your child.
