Allyson Nelson won the 800-meter run and the girls discus at the 37th annual Sparky Reynolds track and field invitational May 12.
Nelson’s time in the 800 was 2:27.83, and she finished with a best throw of 120-09. Also, she was second in the 400 with a time of 1:01.46 and helped the 1,600-meter relay team (Kate Hyatt, Ashley Atteln and Noemi Nicolas) to a third-place finish.
Shelly Powell was 10th in the 800, and Ingrid Ruiz was eighth in the 3,200. The 3,200-meter relay team (Kate Hyatt, Shelly Powell, Ingrid Ruiz and Alexis Gnewikow) was fifth, plus Eliza Blasing was ninth in the triple jump.
Blake Martin led the Brookwood sprinters with a third-place finish (11.59) in the 100 and a second-place finish (23.03) in the 200, in which Martin was edged by Cuba City’s Kordell Stillmunkee by one one-hundredth of a second.
In the 800, Orrie Maurhoff took 10th, and Chase Ferries was seventh in the 3,200. Finishing seventh, Jamin Fladhammer qualified for finals in the 110-meter hurdles, and he was 10th in the 300 hurdles. The 3,200-meter relay team (Joey Perrigo, Zach Leis, Dakota Markell and Orrie Maurhoff) finished fourth overall, plus Maurhoff was sixth in the high jump.
Dodgeville/Mineral Point won the girls-team title with 103 points. Brookwood was sixth with 39 points.
Prairie du Chien claimed the boys title with 81 points, and Brookwood was 12th with 26 points.
