By KEN CLINTON | Brookwood athletic director
We are less than a month from the start of fall sports.
A few reminders:
1) Fall sports start dates:
• Wednesday, Aug. 1: High school football
• Monday, Aug. 13: High school volleyball, high school and junior high cross country, and junior high football
• Monday, Aug. 20: Junior high volleyball
2) Before an athlete can practice, the athlete MUST:
• Submit a current physical form
• Complete the online registration
• Have a current concussion test
3) Online registration:
The online registration can be accessed via the N-O-W athletics page. Use last year’s family account and update it for this year. You will need your username and password, but do not worry about a student ID.
4) Concussion baseline test:
All Incoming seventh-, ninth-, and 11th-grade athletes MUST complete a concussion baseline test before participating. Also, any eighth-, 10th-, or 12th-grader who did not participate in sports last year must complete a test. Seventh-graders who completed a baseline test in sixth grade last year are exempt.
5) Handbook surveys:
A reminder that each student athlete and one of his or her parents must complete the online handbook survey before the first contest. Make certain that you do the correct survey, or you’ll have to retake it. No password is needed, but please include your first AND last names.
6) As always, if you have a problem with any of these requirements, contact Mr. Clinton at kclinton@now.k12.wi.us or 337-4401.
