The Brookwood High School FFA traveled to Louisville, Ky., for the National FFA Convention in late October.
Ten local students made the trip, along with adviser Gary Von Ruden. On the way, they toured the Caterpillar factory in Peoria, Ill., and went to Mammoth Cave National Park in central Kentucky.
At the convention, which drew more than 62,000 students and guests, the students attended a career show and met with potential employers. Numerous vendors also were in attendance.
Students had the opportunity to attend sessions led by the National FFA officer team. Brad Montague, the founder of Kid President, was one of the keynote speakers.
“The event proved to be an excellent educational opportunity for the students,” Von Ruden said.
